Bruschetta (Omnivoro, Yogyakarta)

Hello! Welcome to another weekend and I am going to tell a story of this artwork. This is a portion of bruschetta that I got from Omnivoro. Omnivoro is a small restaurant located in Jalan Gito Gati, Yogyakarta.

The bruschetta I ate at Omnivoro was consisting five pieces of grilled bread with tomato sauce, grounded beef, melted cheese, sprinkled with a mix of seasonings. They were crispy and cheesy. I believed there was mozzarella on it because I had the iconic stringy pull when I bit it. The toppings were on balance, I could taste the beef met the sauce in a nice amount. The wood plate added more aesthetic score to the view.

I really enjoyed creating this artwork. The color I mostly used for food like this was brown, so the coloring part was rather easy. I just needed to add more red or more yellow depending on which part I was working on. I loved how the cheese turned out well. For the cheese, I added a little blue as its texture. It might be not very visible but without it the cheese would look more flat to me.

Overall, the challenging part of this artwork was adding textures. I was happy the plate turned out good, yet I thought there was still room to improve around the bread and the beef. Well, if I had never made this artwork, I wouldn't know, right? I hope you enjoy this artwork as much as I do. I hope you enjoy the bruschetta too, whichever happens first. See you when I see you!
