Fictionally Famous aka The Awan

I wanted to write the title The Awan from the first time but I thought it would be no surprise even though it's not that surprising. :p

Awan in Bahasa means cloud. Our imaginary characters represent purple cloud, black cloud, and green cloud, based on our favorite colors. In our imaginary script, these characters are famous and many people like them.

Sorry for our childishness. =.=

Fictionally Famous 3

The third character is here! This is the last character of three imaginary celeb I and my friends have in minds. Basically I don't state complicated characteristic of them, physically or mentally. I drew them as three cheerful persons and a little childish.

By the way, if you look this character's hair accessories, I made them represents rain drops.

See you on the next post!

Fictionally Famous 2

Still playing with our heads in the clouds, this piece is still made from imagination I and my friends used to tell. Okay, we're on our twenties acting as we're fifteen years younger. We don't really want to be famous in real life but we keep this little fictional story about three famous young girls to amuse us. This is the second character.

The next post is about the last character! No, it's not the end of the set yet!

Fictionally Famous 1

First thing to know: it's a set.

The title might seem unrelated to the picture. Well, this set is actually inspired by a private joke I and my friends used to tell. It involves alter-egos and imaginary fame and stuffs like that and to write it here with all the details would be useless, I suppose.

I'll post the next picture soon!

ps: Fictionally Famous is not the original title for this artworks set. I will expose the title on the last article by the end of this week or month.

Cafe Lady

Another friend of mine, Roza, who also included in my university project years ago (where we should stay in a small village; read my old post) asked me to draw something for her. The moment was right, I got inspired from one of her self pictures in her Instagram. It's her sitting in front of a cafe with cute exterior in a mall. It might be a simple picture but it inspired me so much that I even made a mock-up of an imaginary little house and draw another imaginary little house. And I really enjoyed making them!

I like to see Roza in dark blue. I'm not sure why but until now I still do. As far as I remember she likes red, though. Nevertheless, I ended up giving much blue hues here. :p

All of Me Part 2

Here is the last part of this set. Still inspired by John Legend's song "All of Me", I made this piece from a more casual point of view. Even though this is a set with the previous post, I didn't intend to make the characters looked as a couple with similar outfits or similar pose, even I'd leave it to the readers to decide whether they are a couple or not. (Well, I did want to make the little hearts crossing over the drawing fields of both pieces but nah, I'll do it later on different set). I want to make them as individual characters who experienced a bursting romantic feeling without having their couples feel the same way towards them.

One song to rule them all.

All of Me Part 1

Most of us listen to John Legend's song "All of Me", don't we? The romantic song that plays those melodious piano tunes. To me, it's not a kind of song that makes me fall in love at the first time. Instead, it's growing from a regular "like" to a premium "fond". Even lately it makes me want to touch piano again after I disliked it for... seven years or more.

As the song became my biggest muse, I can't help myself but drawing something inspired by it. The song always makes me imagining colorful heart-shaped bokeh floating around pastel-colored clouds. And the embracing lyrics just fits everyone. By everyone I mean those who has a couple and those who not.

I created two pictures for this set. (Oh, it's been a long time since the last time I made a set!) See you on the next part.

On the last February when I visited a cafe where my friend works at, I got an acquaintance. On the first minutes we talked she mentioned that I reminded her of her senior (which meant her senior schooled in the same year with me). I rarely got noticed like that, but I took it lightly and not overreacted. Then after we talked for one or two hours and laughed some times, she got back on that topic again because she said the way I laughed was same with the girl. On the laptop she brought she accessed Facebook and showed her senior's account. To be honest I can't see me in her, but my friend who was working there said so. Then I showed her picture to my other friends on a chance. They agreed that this girl had similarities with me on our face features. Our biggest difference are our size for I am bigger than her.

Another difference on me and this girl is our style in pictures. I tend to take pictures of me in mysterious way, e.g only a crown on top of my head; half of my face; or gothic makeup, while this girl tends to take pictures in bright light and sweetness. That's why I drew these characters in dark and bright dresses, black and pink lips, sharp and cute shoes. I really enjoyed my time creating them, my favorite part is when I put dots as their dresses' glitter. Bird feather inspired me to make their collars and gloves even though I didn't mean to make them feathery. And the rest is lace, lace, lace.

There are a lot of this kind of case in our lives where some people resemble others. A photographer even made a book of it (now I know how the models of the book felt when they met each other). It's a funny fact, such trivial moment to have. I think it will give a slightly different feeling with when we saw a portrait of our doppelgangers from the past. When I was in kindergarten I had a friend who was similar to me, with same short hair and same crybaby habit. At that time I didn't think that much of our similarities. Ah, now I'm wondering how she is doing.

Have you find your "twin"?
