Flower Day

Flower Day was made due to an old request from my childhood friend Rivia. She asked me to draw a couple. I feel bad for her because this is always postponed for this and that reasons (sorry... >.<).

The couple I draw is given a touch of fashion. I like long scarves, that's why I put one on the boyfriend. And that veil on the girlfriend's head has a classic pattern; baby blue with pink flowers (red flowers instead is more popular, I guess). Oh and I wish I had the girlfriend's pants.

I used a lot of colors here to represent the lovey dovey look of them. I wanted to go with pale pastel colors at first, to make it more "shy" since Rivia is a calm girl, but as you can see, I can't stay long time with pale colors. There are always bold colors if it was my art. I wish you enjoy it!

Now that I had posted this, I feel free!

This doodle is loosely done after I accidently thought about Charlotte La Bouff, Tiana's best friend from The Princess and The Frog. She is really full of energy, she is such a great partner-in-crime for Tiana! I like how she could still feel happy for Tiana until the very end of the story. Everyone deserves one close friend like her.

This November

Hello! This is one of my less productive month for me, I guess. Still jobless (duh). No, kidding. I'm helping my mom's small business now. But at least I'm having fun.

Started from the end of October/ early November, Kakao Talk, a chatting application for smartphone, held an event specially for my city. They would going to give us movie vouchers, phones, TV, etc and all we had to do is intensively using Kakao Talk.

Shortly, I and my partner-in-crime got their invitation to get the gifts. I personally got 1+10 movie vouchers (1 at the D-Day and 10 from playing darts there), while she got 2+10 movie vouchers (because she brought a friend to the D-Day). So we're planning to watch this month's movies. We have to spend the vouchers this month because it expires on the last day of the month.

Right after we got the vouchers, we went watching Big Hero 6. It's a very good movie! I'm not gonna spill it much here since this is not a movie reviewer blog. On the next week we watched Ouija which had a good plot actually (according to my point of view). And we're going to watch another movie on this last week of the month: Penguins of Madagascar.

Since I graduated on March 2014, sometimes I go out like a prize hunter. I got a Line official plush doll (Line is a chatting application too). Okay it happened before I graduated but still it was on this year. Little gifts from Cornetto ice cream, a beauty package from Viva Cosmetics, and now from Kakao Talk. They (the presents) really make me happy and special!

I do need an alternative job. :v

Hello, are you my family?

Bright Colors

This another doodle is something I like lately. Somehow it reminds me of my old artworx here because of those bright colors. Of course this one is more colorful, that's why I love this! But maybe it would be better if I put more "gloss" over things.

Dragon Nest for Erwin

This time I made a fanart of Dragon Nest, an online game, for my childhood friend Erwin. I had to quick-learn the characters of the game and see some other fanarts around the web as my basic knowledge to develop this piece.

It was surely a challange to me to get this finished. I made mistakes in sketching, stuck in deciding colors, had been doubting on how to do this and that... Doing a fanart of something you don't know well is different. And phew! It's done. I know it took more time but it's done. Haha.

September Breeze

Back when I was getting hyped on Line Brush (an application for smartphones for drawing and such), among all those doodles I shared here or not, there was this lady I created who wore purple-and-green outfits. Originally its title is Spring Lady, but since I re-draw her in September with all those breezy days (in my city here in Indonesia), well, I thought it was better get a new one.

And this is how she was, on Line Brush:

Gothic City, The World I Lived At

Yes, this is the dream I mentioned about before (see here), This art does not represent my dream at that time precisely, but more or less it was like this.

I lived, worked, spent my productive age in a gloomy rainy city. Not sure what the name was, but I was having my joyful life there. Not sure what my job was, but I stayed in a nice small apartment with my partner-in-crime who lived in another door.

Rather than "city", the place would be more suitable being a whole different "world" or "planet". People there wore beautiful outfits, and dark colors were more acceptable than lighter ones. Rainy days were common and people like to use umbrellas and to walk. Everything - from people to carriages or other transportation modes - were so elegant.

Perhaps the dream represented my ideal place to live. Anyhow, there is a place called Rain City in this country. The rain is the only thing resembles Gothic City, though.

Pretty Sitha

My high school friend Sitha asked me to draw her herself based on her beautiful self picture. She mainly wears purple with a cute heart lollipop surrounded by greens in her picture. Not as surrounded as her here, though. But adding some fantasies to the fantasy you've made is never wrong, right?

Is That Earth

This is adapted from one of my lucid dreams weeks ago. In that dream, I lived in a huge dorm with a bunch of strangers who seemed had never known me in real life. Two of them had similar faces with two people in my real life, but they acted like they had never known me too in the dream.

One night, people of the dorm gathered on every balconies to see something that pulls out my curiosity. I tried to have a nice spot to see what they saw at the moment, when at last I gathered with those two people I mentioned before, plus one stranger boy (I drew him; the one who wears brown pants in the pic). And what I saw is ridiculously amazing.

It was the Earth in a strange shape in its greyish blue hue in the darkness of the night, being 'attacked' by monstrously thunderstorm, with a moon glistening like a metal ball above her. So dangerous yet somehow peaceful and beautiful at the same time, leaving the trace of a question: if that is the Earth, then where am I?

Actually my dream did not end here. There was a forward part but I can't decide of how I should draw it. Besides, it 'only' showed that I with those guys running around the dorm's ground in the late of night. Other strangers were running in front of us.

Lately my dreams always tells about other worlds I could live in. Are you a lucid dream and/or a dream journalist? What is your strangest dream?

SPOILER ALERT: SPOILER ALERT: SPOILER ALERT: I have another piece of my lucid dream and I will upload it soon.

Classic Witch

This is a sudden artworx I made when my two cousins Kay and Del stayed in my home to celebrate this year's Eid Mubarak. Kay asked me to make one so I spontaneously made a witch. Okay, I did not think of a witch at first but the process itself made me so.

As for the colors, I thought of bright pink as the main key but I was not sure where to put it on until the flowing skirt locked my eyes. *0* Then the rest colors followed later.

By the way, that cat was Kay's request too since she is a cat lover. Put a horn on its head and the cat would be a part of witchcraft.

P.S: I made this artworx directly with a pen.

Par's Artworx #4

This is the last piece my partner-in-crime Par made in her series of artworxs: Rapunzel! She made the one from Tangled, so a piece of Rapunzel's hair was colored brown by me. Because after "people" cut it, the hair turned brown and lost its power. At least that is what Mother Gothel told her.

Par's Artworx #3

My partner-in-crime Par and her hallyuness strike again. This time she drew another hallyu celeb whom I forgot his name, unfortunately. Believe me I can't read hangul...

As her previous artwork, she brought this drawing to me then I did the coloring. It was fun and easy since it was a chibi chara which did not require much details. I want to make some chibi charas too, someday. :D

This guy is Dong Jun, a person from Ze:A, same as the person she drew before. Case closed.

Par's Artworx #2

Unintentionally, on the day I created a Ghostgirl fanart, my partner-in-crime Par told me via Line that she made one too. Yes, both of us loves that Tonya Hurley's book series. We have the first three books and are waiting for the rest books to be published here.

Charlotte Usher does have her popularity in our hearts.

Par's Artworx #1

My partner-in-crime Par is a Kpoper; or a person who loves and is much affected by hallyu aka Korean wave, and lately she observes anything related with Ze:A. This artwork is made by her to represent one of her favorite idols from Ze:A. She brought her drawing files to me and I scanned and colored them. Keep reading my blog to see the rest of her artworks!

Lanla's Kittens

Anyone loves cats here? I am not a pet person, but I like it whenever a pet owner treats their pets well, or even trains them. It is like seeing a plus score of humanity. I have some friends who love cats. They usually have one or two with various breeds. Some feed them with the same food as we eat, some with specified food. Different people treat their pets differently.

My cats-lover friend Lanla asked me to make her an artworx of something including cats in it. To be more precise, being crowded by cats. Oh she surely is a cats lover! It took time to decide on how should I made it, since I had had drawn something about surrounded by cats like this before. But then I decided to make something sweeter and warmer, like being under a blanket when it rains outside.

Naruto and Hinata's Bento Time

Rather than worshiping Naruto and Sakura as a couple, I see Naruto and Hinata - often simplified as NaruHina - as a sweeter couple. I watched this series until the earlier episodes of Naruto Shippuden then I stopped because the TV did so (I'm not an anime freak who downloads or streams through the internet to follow the entire series). Because I had never continued watching it, I don't know how is Naruto and Hinata's relationship development. There was an episode where I thought was the key to their relationship; it was when Hinata shared her bento (lunch box) with Naruto and he said that she could be a good wife.

It's totally cuuuuuute!

My language training club friend Wiwied asked me to do an artwork of Naruto and Hinata. Perhaps he is also their worshiper. :p So I drew them in some typical classic Japanese seifuku (school uniform) and represented that bento scene. I chose green as the main color only because they lived in Konohagakure aka Hidden Leaf Village.

Please don't remind me that at some occasions leaves aren't green.

Charlotte Usher's Homecoming Dress

Does anyone read Ghostgirl by Tonya Hurley? I really love that book series! How can death be so lightly told and interesting like Charlotte Usher's? How can friendship be so beautiful although she is dead? How can a feeling stay in her heart the same way as she was alive?

My Facebook friend Merlyn asked me if I can make an artworx of Charlotte in her homecoming dress. Of course it was an interesting idea that I should accept right away. Now you know why I made a concept of a homecoming dress in my previous post. The color I put on was inspired by the second book cover in Indonesia version.

Now, can anyone explain who is the mysterious boy ghost who danced with Charlotte in the first book?

Mini Homecoming Dress

Homecoming is uncommon here, so I was quite astounded by the dresses sold around the internet. There are homecoming dresses which are playful and sweet; quinceanera gowns which make the birthday girls feel special; etc etc. As a girl who only knew kebaya and common bridal gowns, to see such many kinds of dresses made my fashion knowledge broaden a little.

This homecoming dress was actually a concept for one of my upcoming artworks where I had to draw a homecoming dress. In the end I did not put on this one, but I didn't want to let it go either so I scanned it, colored it, and went to this blog to post it.

How do we know that we will get a little treasure so sudden?

Hong Yu Ra (Hong Yoo Ra)

As a neutral-towards-hallyu person, korean drama Bel Ami/Pretty Man is one of my favorite series and Hong Yu Ra (or should I write it Hong Yoo Ra? Please CMIIW) is one of my favorite characters in it. Despite her saddening past, she's strong and elegant, and her smartness leads her to get what she wants. Her heavy eyeliner is what I am falling in love most, and she usually wears nude or soft peach lipstick to balance her gothic eyes. And her brows... OMG! <3 <3 <3 Han Chae Young plays it so well!

However, no matter how deep I like this fictional character, I did not purposely draw this. At that time I only drew an eye with heavy eyeliner and then I got the urge to finish this up as Hong Yu Ra.

Dried Tears

A hurt feeling is one of those things we don't want to exist in our life. However, everything happens and our emotions spice them up so that we develop feelings: happiness, sorrow, disappointment... Would we be stronger without one of those feelings, say, hurt? I don't think so.

The thin girl I drew here was beaten hard deep inside her heart. Yes she was crying for hours until she messed up her make up, but then she could decide on how to protect herself and prevent herself from getting down again. As Lenka said in her song Trouble is A Friend, yes, trouble is a meanie friend.

Cookies Confetti

If you think that this geometric thingy was made after Confetti Cookies, you are absolutely right. I am bad at mixing colors from color pencils so I tried it here so that even you are seeing purple here, it is not the original purple from the pencil itself. Still stiff though. :p

If you see any text behind this drawing, it's because I am still keeping my habit to reuse papers.

Confetti Cookies

"Confetti Cookies" is just a last-minute title for this artwork. Honestly I don't have any idea of what I drew. However, seeing its colors and small triangles is delightful, even though I don't really like triangles.

FYI, I used color pencils to color it.

Sunshine Scent

Sunshine always pours down here in my tropical heaven. Try to lock yourself inside your house for few days and you'll gonna miss it to warm up your body. At least that's what I feel lately.

You don't need to stare at the rays as long as your skin can feel it.

Dark Lotus

I am not a Korean drama diehard fanatic, nor a listener of Korean songs, but I like how hallyu or Korean wave affects us. I like 2NE1 and B.A.P, I like Jang Geun Suk and Sung Joon (Bang Sung Joon) and was attracted to Kim Joon (Kim Hyung Joon) when he played in Boys Before Flowers, and I know a few songs from SNSD and Super Junior, but that's it. From hallyu, we know a new culture and... food! The most important point! XD

Dark Lotus is presented as my little known knowledge of Korean culture based on Korean dramas, especially saeguk or traditional legends. The hanbok I drew here is obviously different with the common hanboks, which are commonly use bright colors more than one (for example: green meets white meets bright pink in one set). I only wanted to show more gothic aura here. Does it make her look like an evil princess? XD

Monday, July 28, 2014

I made this after I got a job psychological test call from a poultry-pharmaceutical company I applied to. It was my first call so I was very anticipating how it would be. A few days after I made this I went to the city where the company is and do the test. I did not make it but it was my first experience to be invited to a test.

FYI that yellow shirt was meant to be more pale than this. And I wish I would look good if I had that legging hahahahah.

Sailor Rapunzel and Tuxedo Flynn

As some of you know, I totally love Rapunzel, especially Tangled version. It has been a long time since the last time I drew some Rapunzel things, so this time, along with Wild Hair and The Black Diamond, I made a tiny doodle of Rapunzel wearing a mini sailor soldier typical costume. Her magic wand represents that "one drop of sun" flower. And she's wearing boots instead of barefoot hahahah.

Flynn wears cape and mask. Nuff said. I don't know how to modify his costume! XD

T-Rex Invasion

I'm not good at creating memes (this is my first time, though), but I think this is enough to describe what I'm feeling at most.

Sunny New York

I was really enjoying my time making this artworx! No pencil needed - I went through with only a drawing pen. The main idea of this artworx is inspired by a vintage-high class woman in a modern city. The title itself is not really telling about New York, though. I used it to emphasize the statement of big and modern city.

I had never been in New York either.

Red Confetti

If you think that this artwork is purposely made as an "artworx", you're not wrong.. nor right either. This red-dressed girl originally was a doodle. And when I mention doodle, it means there is no seriousness in it.

Every time I (we) doodling, I always pick what comes across my mind. This time crystals and red-colored clothes came into my mind (if you look closely, the red on the skirt, top, and sleeves is different with red on her waist and the edge of her sleeves). Silver sandals to complete her look.

By the way, those glitter around the air were the dirt from ink, dust, scanner lid, etc. I think I will use them again next time. ;)
