Last minutes of Sunday

When was the last time I use watercolor? I can't even remember. I never had a formal edu of art, except if you want to state that having a private art tutor is considered a formal one. We liked to sketch a lot, and painting was sometimes done too, but it wasn't that much since I always asked her to let me sketch. ✏✒

This was what I did on a Sunday evening: watercoloring. I used a set of cheap paint and a mini sketchbook I bought at a bazaar. If I had to put a title on this one, it would be First Attempt because it felt like I started at zero level hahahahah...

It's surprising that I enjoy it much than I expect. Next time I'll make more paintings.

Miley Cyrus - Malibu

To me, Miley Cyrus's Malibu is easy to get me... starstrucked? ... starstruck? I found a good drama in the lyrics; a drama of opened eyes, thankfulness, grace. I'm not a big fan of beaches or mountains, so somehow the lyrics give me a certain point of view about outdoor tourism.

This tiny note should contain my drawings and my favorite songs at the moment (in this case, my favorite songs from early until mid 2017). Mostly I make the drawings a bit far from the song interpretations. Well, it turns out differently on this one, which the drawing is actually loosely inspired by the music video.

Wait, I did it too in Fetish.

Orange is obvipusly good here. By the calm ocean and mild wave, I hope you can interpret it as a scene on a late afternoon and/or at golden hour.

Do you prefer indoor or outdoor sites?

"Suddenly the sun goes up..."

I'm aware that I rarely draw a male as my main character. Along with James Arthur's deep masculine voice I can draw this man along with what I hope would be his aesthetic surroundings (top frame, falling leaves, blank background...).

Rudimental's song "Sun Comes Up" featuring James Arthur was the song I listened while drawing this. The melody of the song is actually more relaxing than persuading anyone to move on from their bad memories. That's what I think. Eventhough, I still like the EDM/finished version more than the accoustic one.

I'll show the other from this tiny note!

"Friday night my phone is off..."

Until I made this piece, I didn't intend to make a musical-themed doodles on this tiny note. So you can call it a spontaneous project.

The note contains 30 sheets, all in crown shape same as front and back cover. I thought it would be fun to create simple drawings and give a line or two of any lyrics as their caption. And the songs have to be my likings since early until mid 2017. And it would be a bit challenging to make them all in August 2017.

On this art, I use the first line of song All My Love by Cash Cash and Connor Maynard as my inspiration and caption. It's a very catchy song, very my type. Oh, and I made this before I put my phone at the repairment.

I wanted to make a girl, but it turns out a bit androgynous... 😅

I'll show more from this note!

Okay, people. I'm pretty sure most of you have heard of annual music event We The Fest. I, honestly, just heard of it this year on last June on the radio. While I have been familiar with Djakarta Warehouse Project, We The Fest is rather new to me even I thought it just started this year. Of course it's not. In fact, the event started on 2014.

I was trying to arrange my short trip to Jakarta to visit this EDM festival. I thought I could go on Friday night by train, stay at my friend's dorm, see the event on Saturday then I would go home on Sunday. All sounds good until I check the ticket price. 😵

That's okay, that means I have to save some cash to go to their next event, right?

Well, somehow We The Fest affects me so much that I make this swimming guy on my tiny note. It is almost spontaneous and I like the result. 🐟🐟🐟
