Save A Dance

A ball never happens in my life. It's not that I'm complaining since it's not a prior to me, it's because a ball is something quite rare to have here. I once had my curiosity on it but after I learned a step or two, well.... To get myself too close with a dance partner is a difficult thing to begin with because I tend to keep a distance between me and someone in front of me unless I'm in a public place. But a ball is really sweet, or at least that's what I think of as a person who never had it.

Months ago I had done writing a story with a ball scene inside. I can't describe a dance completely so I just described the situation, the nuance, and the very line that always said by a dance partner. The main character is a girl which only shows her back here so it leaves the imagination up to the readers.

She Lives In A Fairytale

The first sentence of Paramore's song Brick by Boring Brick is quite a hook to me. So does the video. Everyone must have been in that kind of phase where they deny reality whether it is consciously or unconsciously done, and put their hope high for a better environment for them. Not to be a pessimist, but reality is unfortunately not always as good as we hope it is. Even the quietest wind sometimes can rip the wings off of a butterfly.

Speaking of butterflies, the little flower in the picture was meant to be a butterfly, but I thought it could be less dreamy so I drew a floating flower. It is accidentally has more details, which turns out good because it then symbolizes how our hopes of a better world is more beautiful than reality.

Overall this is a very simple art which doesn't need much details and I put on pale pastel colors here to get it a little out of reality. Straight face for innocence. Plain dress for play time. Blue hair for keeping your feet on the ground while your head is in the clouds. Who lives in a fairytale?

It all started with a silly imagination of a girl who beautifully walked through a bookstore and accidentally met her ex. This is an ordinary girl and still is, but her ex saw her differently. She's more captivating. With her high ponytail and a very long hair, she looks like a living Barbie. Her heels kill, too.

I almost forgot to finish this piece! This is a tribute (it's actually more like a joke) to my partner-in-crime Par, whose nickname is occasionally written as Phar. It all started with some imaginative stories about her hahahahah.

The first one started from her photo editing app in her phone which turned her having red hair. Then somewhere in my mind popped up a picture of Rihanna when she dyed her hair red and wore white suit. I think it suits Par in some perspective.

The second one was based on our old private joke. I almost forgot it unless I saw my old text to her describing this style. Icy blue sparkling puff gown, fishnets, white bow, and lolita shoes. It has been revised through time but the main theme remained.

On the second picture, I made the stocking and glitter white because it is the "original" color. They can't standout properly, that's why I keep a copy of the first picture.

The Traveling Mom

Hi! It's been two months!

My empty days was filled with colors from makeup tutorial videos and some of my old favorite songs. They led me to some kind of refreshment I unconsciously needed. They inspired me.

The Traveling Mom is dedicated to my lovely sister Kak Adinda who lives in Pontianak. She likes to spend her time with her little family to go abroad and see beautiful lands. Some of her destinations were Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, and I bet she had and will go to see many more.

She likes taking pictures of her son, that's why I draw him here with her. Traveling time is always a good time to them, so I made this piece playful with those tiny icons on the background. Kak Adinda's pillow-like coat and patterned shoes is my favorite things here.

Again, playfulness is the key here.
