Crispy Chicken Strips (with Nori And Blackpepper Seasoning)

Let's continue our catching-up-blogging episode! I don't even know what the proper name is, but I still have plenty of artworks I haven't shown here yet. So here we go.

Before I made this artwork, I discovered a snack made of chicken strips mixed with seasoning powder. It's usually sold at malls here, and there is one brand that I have loved since then. They allow us to choose three flavors of seasoning powder. (There is another brand that allows four flavors, but it was less satisfying for me.)

This snack discovery was quite a delight. The process of choosing and mixing the flavors felt almost like an art itself. The combination of textures and tastes mirrored the way I approach creating my artwork—layering different elements to achieve a harmonious result. The flavors of nori, spicy, and black pepper became my go-to choices, each bringing a unique twist to the simple yet delicious snack.

I really enjoyed making this artwork. I was all in my mood from start to finish, and at some point in the progress, I was snacking on those savory chicken strips. The act of snacking while working became a part of the creative process, fueling my imagination and keeping my energy levels up. My favorite flavors at that time were nori, spicy, and black pepper. Now, I replace black pepper with sweet corn or roasted corn, which also work well with nori and spicy.

The process of creating this artwork was immersive and satisfying. I remember vividly how the savory taste of the chicken strips complemented the creative flow. The crunch and the burst of flavors seemed to synchronize with each brushstroke and color choice. It's funny how such small pleasures can influence our creative output.

As I look at the finished piece now, I can almost taste those chicken strips again. It's fascinating how our senses are interconnected, and how a simple snack can bring back a flood of memories associated with the creation of art. This artwork not only represents a visual journey but also a sensory one, reminding me of the joy and comfort found in the little things.

So, here's to more catching up and sharing more of my artworks with you. Each piece has its own story and its own set of inspirations. I hope you enjoy this journey through my creative process as much as I do. Stay tuned for more!
