Seakan Rambut Panjangmu Tergerai

Hi! This time I will talk about the story behind this artwork. This is wholeheartedly inspired by JKT48's song "Everyday Kachuusha." To me, this song tells a story about a long-lasting childhood crush who grew up beautifully. I always believe that this song is about a long-haired boy with a headband.

When JKT48 was divided into three groups—Team J, Team KIII, and Team T—my favorite was Team KIII for their tough characteristic. Their colors were blue and yellow, which I used here just to accentuate my favorite group, lol.

At the time when I was creating this artwork, I was still in my sun-and-moon phase. It was when I loved to insert sun and moon, day and night kind of themes in my artworks. There was a little secret meaning around it at that time, but it is irrelevant to tell now. <insert song by My Chemical Romance "I'm Not Okay" the part where they scream "I'm okay!!!">

Creating this artwork was fun. I challenged myself to draw a long-haired boy since I tend to have the same face for all my character drawings. I hope it worked. The long hair and headband are central to the character, reflecting the song’s nostalgic and romantic vibe. I wanted to capture that timeless essence of youthful love and admiration.

The use of blue and yellow not only highlights Team KIII but also complements the sun and moon theme. The contrasting colors bring a dynamic energy to the piece, symbolizing the balance between light and dark, day and night. This duality was something I was exploring a lot during that period in my art.

Reflecting on this piece, I realize how much fun it was to draw and how it represents a period of artistic growth for me. It’s always exciting to look back and see how past inspirations and phases influence the present. Thank you for joining me on this journey of sharing my stories and artworks. Stay tuned for more insights and creations!
