Bowlers

Today I will tell you about this artwork.

This artwork was created when I was working at the store branch for 12 hours everyday. Read here for the reference. At that place, there was another store operating that sold cute hats and some accessories, mostly pop culture-inspired. At that time, they sold so many bowlers.

They had bowlers in almost every color, and that was the source of inspiration for this artwork. From top to bottom, I wanted to show cyan, yellow, and emerald, but the last one turned out not as green as I intended. So, I ended up with a sandwiched yellow bowler hat between two blue ones.

I had fun drawing and coloring this artwork. The detailed makeup and earrings were my favorites. I also loved how the skin color turned out after I built it up layer by layer. Creating the different textures and hues was a satisfying process. The playful combination of colors and accessories brought a whimsical touch to the piece.

This girl is in a suit! At some point in my life, I dreamed of going here and there in suits. The suit represents a sense of confidence and professionalism that I admired and aspired to embody. But now I wear dresses, and I'm not complaining. I enjoy every fashion transformation in my life. 😂 It's interesting how our personal styles evolve over time, reflecting different phases and aspects of our personalities.

Working on this artwork was a delightful escape from the long hours at the store. It allowed me to channel my creativity and find joy in small details, like the makeup and accessories. Each element of the artwork tells a part of the story, from the vibrant bowler hats to the confident stance of the girl in the suit.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the story behind this artwork. I look forward to sharing more of my creations and the inspirations behind them with you. Stay tuned for more art adventures!
